CITB is reviewing the National Occupations Standards (NOS) for Fitted Interiors. This NOS defines the criteria for the current level 2 vocational qualifications.
CITB are looking for employers and/or occupational experts to form working groups that will review the current NOS to ensure they align with current industry practices. Once approved by the regulators of the devolved nations the new vocational qualification units derived and awarding organisations may then administrate this new qualification. It is essential for the work of the construction industry that these standards and qualifications are kept up to date.
Consultation meetings are held remotely via Microsoft teams and CITB seeking engagement from employers from each of the 4 home nations.
There are 2 NOS in the Fitted Interiors suite:-
- VR121 Install fitted furniture
- VR643 Move, handle or store resources
CITB envisage this review could be completed within 2 or 3 meetings, depending on the amount of changes the working group deem necessary. Each meeting is usually 2-3 hours depending on what works for the group.
