Caledan has completed a first ‘Passivehaus’ project using the Primaframe System for Caerphilly Council.

The panelled system, developed in conjunction with main contractor Willmott Dixon, to the requirements of Caerphilly County Borough Council, achieved incredible air tightness results whilst using the British Gyspum Glasroc X external sheathing board, which has resulted in the project being awarded Passivehaus status.

In a recent UKAS accredited fire test the Primaframe ‘through wall’ build up surpassed expectations and achieved 90 mins, integrity, insulation & load bearing requirements, again whilst utilising British Gyspum products. Similarly, impressive results were achieved when testing the loaded Primaframe acoustic floor build up, which also exceeded expectations.

Caledan are also pleased to be working with Willmott Dixon and Caerphilly County Council on the forthcoming Oakdale residential scheme where the Primaframe system will again be deployed.
