With an economic crisis looming in the very near future due to inflation and rising fuel costs, the UK construction sector in August 2022 decided just to carry on regardless outperforming last month’s figures as well as August 2021 when there was no war in Ukraine.

The UK construction sector contract awards in August 2022 (£6.2billion) were up by 8.7% compared to July with the rolling year, increasing by 2.5% to just over £74.1billion.
In August 2022 there were 286 no construction companies (up 46% from July-22) winning 460 new construction projects (up 33% from July-22) with the top 10 being made up of; Kier Group, Morgan Sindall, VolkerWessels, Mott MacDonald Group, Balfour Beatty, JRL Group, Hitachi Zosen Inova UK, Bellway Homes, Hill Partnerships & CR Construction (UK) company with Morgan Sindall Group once again leading the way with most individual new contracts for the third month in a row with a total of 34no new projects.
