Fermacell, which manufacture gypsum and cement based boards for internal walls, ceilings and floors, as well as boards for extenal applications, has unveiled plans to produce its own branded steel framing systems in a move aimed at improving its delivery of fire and acoustic performance standards.
Fermacell will be marketing a full range of warranty-backed systems to DIN standards including stud, track and fixings. Where EN standards are not applicable Fermacell has carried out testing to British Standards.
The new Fermacell metal steel system is to be manufactured in Germany and will be distributed to the UK market from its main distribution centre in Holland through major distributors including SIG, CCF, Encon and Minster.
Gary Carter, general manager at Fermacell UK, said: “The development will give Fermacell greater control of quality and certainty of distribution. The new system will be priced to make a more competitive option where higher levels of acoustic performance are required.”
