Fermacell’s Powerpanel H20, which is a cement-bonded board reinforced with glass-fibre mesh, has been approved by British Board of Agrement (BBA) for use in both internal and external applications.

Suitable for domestic and commercial builds, the board can be installed as the internal lining – or as part of an external render system – on masonry, timber and steel-frame constructions up to 18m high. The board can also be used in conjunction with External Wall Insulation (EWI) systems.

Andrew Richardson, Technical Manager at Fermacell, said: “We are pleased to announce that we have now been accredited with BBA approval. This accreditation will allow us to expand the board’s portfolio of product applications.”

Most typically known for its internal specification in environments such as wet rooms, bathrooms and swimming pools, the Powerpanel H20 is anticipated to have much more widespread use externally, as the recently-introduced Green Deal promotes energy-saving improvements.

The board carries a reaction-to-fire rating of A1 and can be expected to have a service life in excess of 30 years.
