The Gypsum Products Development Association (GPDA) is recruiting a Technical Director as part of the Association’s planned growth and expansion. This role supports the Association’s technical committee and requires someone with a fundamental understanding of the drylining industry and who is familiar with technical standards and the issues that affect the sector.
GPDA represents the four major gypsum board and plaster manufacturers in the UK and Ireland – British Gypsum, Siniat, Knauf Drywall and Gyproc.
The new appointment builds on the previous role of a Technical Adviser and includes preparing technical guidance notes; representing the GPDA technical committee at external meetings; undertaking research and policy work; project managing work, such as arranging testing; monitoring updates to Standards, including liaison with BSI, CEN and Eurogypsum committees.
GPDA chief executive, Neil Shaw, said “this is a unique opportunity for someone with experience in the drylining industry to play a part in helping shape the GPDA for the future. The individual needs to be Independent of any manufacturer or consultancy provider and confident in representing the industry to other parties.”
