Ed Davey, the government’s Energy secretary, has accepted that Green Deal is not working as it should do.
Mr Davey was speaking at Ecobuild, the sustainable design and construction show, and told delegates that he would launch a consultation on changes to the Energy Companies Obligation (ECO) and confirmed that Green Deal finance use had been disappointing.
Delegates were told that the government would be unveiling further incentives for the scheme and that he was looking for ways to streamline the Green Deal.
DECC will also continue to strip out red tape from the lending process so customers could sign a plan on the same day as they got a quote.
