FIS member EE Smith Contracts has been awarded Highly Commended in the Construction Contractor of the Year (turnover under £500m) catergory of the Construction News awards.
The judges praised EE Smith’s use of innovation to drive efficiency and increase productivity, as well as its commitment to training apprentices and promoting staff wellbeing – particularly with respect to mental health.
The judges said: “Whilst a relatively specialist contractor, EE Smith’s impressive projects combined with its investment in reducing its environmental impact, innovation and apprenticeships, clearly set it apart and put it level with larger-scale organisations.”
