Supplier of civils and drainage solutions, Keyline, has raised over £25,000 at its inaugural charity dance-off at the Blackpool Tower Ballroom.
Paired with husbands, wives and partners, members of Keyline’s senior leadership team as well as representatives from key suppliers danced in front of 250 guests on Thursday 7 July 2022, after weeks of training with professional dancers.
Each couple danced either the Jive or Waltz at the world-famous ballroom in a competitive challenge, with the audience and judges awarding votes for each performance. The judging was led by dancer and choreographer, Louie Spence, and the evening featured dancing from Strictly Come Dancing Professionals Ian Waite and Faye Huddleston.
The finale saw six couples, the top three from the Jive category and three from the Waltz, perform the Cha Cha Cha. After an impressive final round of dances and against stiff competition, Keyline Managing Director Dean Pinner and his wife Julia were crowned champions.
The total raised on the night was donated to Prostate Cancer UK, to support its lifesaving research to find better ways to diagnose and treat prostate cancer.
Dean Pinner, Managing Director at Keyline said, “We’re committed to our community impact and sadly, prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in the UK. That’s why raising money for Prostate Cancer UK is so important for us, both as a business and as individuals.”
“We wanted our fundraising efforts to be a little different this year as Covid restrictions have put our in-person charity activities on hold for the past couple of years,” Pinner continued.
“Collaboration sits at the heart of everything we do, and Keyline Come Dancing has been a great way to get colleagues and suppliers together again. What’s more, it puts those of us who were put forward as dancers completely out of our comfort zone!”
The civils supplier last hosted a charity event for Prostate Cancer UK in 2019, to mark the 10-year partnership between the two organisations. The event comprised of a five-day cartoon themed, car rally across Europe.
