Locker and Riley has been awarded the Sword of Excellence by the Plaisterers’ Livery Company in recognition as the plastering and drywall company who, in the opinion of the judges, has shown the greatest commitment to training and in particular, in-house training.

The award acknowledges that the training it delivers is worthwhile and improves business performance.

The Chairman of the Judges said that against stiff competition Locker and Riley produced strong evidence of a real commitment to training across all aspects of the workforce and business.  Their training plans and number of ‘in-house’ and external courses attended, together with the qualifications achieved by so many, is indeed very impressive.”

The 15th Annual Plaisterers’ Training Awards, sponsored by British Gypsum, Formula and Hadley,  were held at Plaisterers’ Hall in the City of London on 7 November and the audience represented a wide cross-section of the plastering and drylining trade, training colleges and independent training providers with particular links to construction trades and other organisations actively involved in construction skills training.

The Awards were presented by The Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor of the City of London Alderman Roger Gifford.

Student of the year was Mark Singleton and the life time achievement award went to Ian Pollitt.
