Measom apprentice Zak Stephens has won the Apprentice of the Year award at the CN Specialist Awards 2021.

The CN Specialist Awards are a great initiative for everyone in the industry and a fantastic way to celebrate and recognise one another’s’ success and achievements throughout the year.

It is well deserved award rewarding Zak for all his hard work and excellence. Rikki Wild was praised for providing an excellent training programme and taking the time to work closely to mentor the young apprentices. Measo was a finalist in the Training Excellence Award.

A Measom spokesperson said: “We are honoured to be recognised for the work that we do and our contributions to the construction industry. At Measom, we not only work hard to drive the success of the business but to inspire the future generation of construction. It is very important for us to create career opportunities for the younger generation, especially through the ongoing pandemic, as they are the next generation of dryliners. Drylining is not a career that is well recognised, and we are committed to change that. We are extremely proud to have launched the first recognised drylining apprenticeship in the UK, which is Ofsted accredited. Our training focuses on offsite training and skills along with working with experienced individuals. We want to ensure that the apprentices are equipped with all the tools necessary to be successful in the outside world. Our goal is to have 50% of our workforce as trained apprentices. Since January 2020, we have supported 45 young people and this is will only increase!”

Once again, we are beyond grateful to have been nominated for 2 awards. It is an icing on the cake that we are the recipient of the Apprentice of the Year award. A massive thank you to the Measom team for making this possible!
