British Gypsum has introduced several improvements to its Gypframe product range that make partitions easier to install and even more rigid.

The new Gypframe ‘C’ stud features embossed corners that add strength and rigidity to the stud, especially the legs, which reduces the effect of twisting and movement of the stud when fixing boards. This increased rigidity also translates to stronger walls with significantly less deflection.

The stud leg length has been increased by 5mm to give a bigger target for board fixing. This dimensional change and increased rigidity from the embossed corners also gives better engagement between stud and track, as it ‘snaps’ into place.

Richard Haworth, senior product manager at British Gypsum, commented: “Importantly, every improvement made to the range has been in response to customer feedback, many of which have real benefits to those physically installing the products – speeding up the process and helping them achieve a higher quality wall at the end of the job. It was also important to us to ensure the new track and stud is completely compatible with existing systems, so installers don’t need to worry about using older stock alongside the new range.”

The new Gypframe products retain the rounded edges for safer handling on site and also feature new embossed logos to make them easily identifiable. In addition, systems built using Gypframe metal components – even if they are a mix of the old and new products – qualify for the trusted British Gypsum SpecSure® warranty, which guarantees the system will perform as intended throughout its entire installed life.
