Hilti has received design awards for innovative new products at this year’s Red Dot Award ceremony held in Essen, Germany.

Hilti’s new TE 70 combihammer family of tools received the highest product design award in the Red Dot’s “Industry” category, taking home the “Red Dot Award: best of the best”. The international jury of experts also gave honors to the TE 30-ATC combihammer, two laser range meters, a multi-line laser and a magazine for drywall screwdrivers.

The product design criteria were based on degree of innovation, functionality or ergonomics and their emotional content. The jury also considered aspects such as longevity, clarity of function and ecological sustainability. Some 4815 products from 53 nations were submitted for the “Red Dot Award: Product Design 2014” competition. The awards were judged by a jury of 40 international design experts.

“Each individual design award for our products underscores the design strength of our company,” said Hilti Chief Designer Stephan Niehaus. “This is particularly the case when independent experts unanimously rate our products as outstanding.” In February of this year the TE 70 tool family was also among those Hilti tools receiving the international “iF award Gold 2014”.
