Arjo, a leader in care solutions for individuals with reduced mobility, needed to relocate their operations to Sovereign Park. SEC Interiors was engaged in this comprehensive project, which required meticulous planning and execution to meet stringent health and safety standards.
Project overview
The project began with detailed site meetings to understand the requirements and constraints. The scope included everything from site setup to final handover, aiming to deliver a state-of-the-art facility for Arjo.
The first step was setting up the site, including welfare facilities and a temporary breakout area for contractors. Protection materials were installed for existing flooring and stairwells to prevent damage during construction. A significant feature of the project was the mezzanine floor, designed and installed to enhance operational capacity with specific loading capacities and finishes.
Transformative interior Fit-out
In Arjo’s new facility, various partitions and suspended ceilings were installed to create a functional and modern workspace. The flooring solutions included contract grade carpet tiles, vinyl flooring, and anti-slip options to meet specific area needs. HVAC installation was essential for maintaining a controlled, comfortable, and safe environment within the Arjo facility, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards, and enhancing operational efficiency. SEC also completed comprehensive electrical work, including power distribution, lighting, and fire alarms, enhancing safety and functionality.
Tailored furnishing and plumbing
The office and meeting rooms were furnished with high-quality, ergonomic furniture designed to enhance productivity and comfort. Meeting rooms featured polished wood tables and stylish chairs, creating an inviting collaborative environment. Tea points had sleek cabinetry and luxurious Onyx Blackstone countertops. Washrooms and specialised cleaning rooms were fitted with stainless steel sinks and touch-free taps, ensuring hygiene and ease of use
Final touches for operational readiness
The final stages included the installation of wall cladding, enhancing both the visual appeal and durability of the facility. New door openings featured robust frames and smooth finishes, improving functionality and aesthetics. PVC strip curtains provided easy access while maintaining separation between different zones, and fast action doors facilitated quick movement of personnel and materials. These elements ensured the facility was ready for operational use, offering convenience and enhanced efficiency.
Delivering a successful outcome
The relocation to Sovereign Park was successful, with the new facility meeting Arjo’s needs.
The process has been seamless
Gary Jones, UK Rental Director, Arjo Ltd said: “Since appointing SEC to undertake the design and build of our new Decontamination Facility, the process has been seamless. The design stage was made simple, with SEC taking the lead following our instructions, with regular reviews and tweaks until we had a design we were happy with. Once this was signed off the project plan was developed with a hard stop date needing to be hit to due us moving from another premises. SEC hit this hard stop date with days to spare ensuring no operational disruption for us and we could meet our own deadlines. The facility is spacious, well designed, with individual climate controls in each area ensuring all is well ventilated. Any queries from us have been met head on and the project could not have gone any better, it has been a pleasure to work with SEC.”
