A new report from Heathrow Airport has revealed Astins as one of the UK businesses behind the development of Heathrow’s brand new Terminal 2.

The company scooped a prestigious £9 million contract to install partitions and drylining throughout the new terminal building. In total, Astins employed one hundred members of staff and apprentices to work on-site during the project.

Astins will have their work showcased on a global stage with more than 20 million passengers from around the world each year, once the terminal opens in June.

The contract fuelled a host of growth and development opportunities for the company. It enabled Astins to renew the lease for its training institute and led to the company’s first overseas contract, an £18m drylining project for the new Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm.

Speaking about the project, Dominic Tutt, managing director at Astins, said: “Astins is proud to be involved in building Terminal 2. Major projects such as our work at Heathrow, are an important springboard for us as we look to grow our business and continue to provide best-in-class training for our staff.”
