The latest information from Builders’ Conference shows that both the number and value of contracts awarded in February recovered to pre‐coronavirus levels. There were 600 contracts, the highest number in any month since the pandemic started, worth a total of £8.0 billion, which was 33% higher than the monthly average of £6.0 billion in the year prior to coronavirus between April 2019 and March 2020. 44% of all the contracts awarded by value were housing (£3.5 billion), with mixed use developments making up 19% (£1.5 billion) and warehouse projects 6% (£511 million).

Whilst the number of tender opportunities increased compared to the previous month, it remains 39% below the monthly average pre‐coronavirus.
