Design and Visual was approached by the architect who explained their vision and briefed them on the concept of the rope theme running throughout the build. Design and Visual were commissioned to manufacture black Jesmonite AC730 panels with a rope pattern installed onto a framework hook and rail system.
To meet the design requirements Design and Visual came up with a methodology which would allow them to replicate the look of the rope to feature in the Jesmonite wall panels. This was achieved by manufacturing a fibreglass model using a zinc profile to achieve the dome inserts. Ropes were then laid into the dome inserts and this stabilised the model. Once the model was complete a rubber mould was then produced. From this rubber mould Design and Visual cast the Jesmonite panels.
The team made the required bespoke colour which was approved prior to manufacturing. It is an extremley important process to ensure the same quantities of each colour type were used from the same batches in order to achieve colour consistency throughout the manufacturing process. The company had a scrict quality control process implemented during this project and the client was extremely pleased with the end result.
