Did you know…

FIS has a network of Approved Training Providers delivering training and qualifications for the 33 occupations aligned to the finishes and interiors sector.

Part of the FIS mission is to raise, maintain and ensure continuity of standards and to be a reliable source of information, advice and guidance.  A fundamental part of this is to ensure members have access to quality training and qualification delivery that provides proof of competence for employer members and their employees.  Each of the FIS Approved Training Providers has signed the FIS code of conduct.

Membership of this network is not automatic, and applicants are subject to vetting procedures built around Product, Process and People and the Quality Framework, similar to FIS member organisations.  Not only are these Training Providers vetted on application, they are vetted at irregular intervals to ensure they continue to meet the high standards FIS demands.  Ongoing vetting comprises an on-site assessment to check the training environment and student facilities, plus a documentary review to confirm Awarding Organisation approval and instructor competence.  Quality is at the heart of all we do, FIS actively promotes good practice in the delivery of training and qualifications for the finishes and interiors sector to enable members to achieve the high quality projects to which they aspire with a trained and qualified workforce.

FIS often negotiated with Training Providers to secure discounts and offers for members.  Available, at the time of writing, are free of charge vocational qualifications dependent upon the location of the organisation and/or current work sites.  Take a look at the FIS Website for more details.

Early in 2020 FIS joined the British Association of Construction Heads (BACH).  BACH are a not-for-profit organisation that enables and empowers Construction Heads within Further and Higher Education to achieve the very best outcomes for their students and colleges.  This membership gives FIS access to even more Training Providers and helps us promote the sector.  It also provides FIS with early information on geographical provision or which Training Provider is delivering what training and qualifications where.

If you have a training need please contact FIS to see how we can assist.  You may get what you need free of charge.  In addition, an FIS Skills and Funding Clinic may secure you funds for training and qualifications already completed.
