Stewart Milne Group, which develops sites across Scotland and north west England, has entered administration with the immediate loss of more than 200 jobs.  It comes after an attempt to sell the company by chairman Stewart Milne fell through last year.  Administrator Teneo said 217 jobs would be affected, with hundreds of other subcontractor roles also impacted. Its subsidiaries have also been placed into administration.

The administrators have advised that subcontractors should not undertake any more work for the business, and site access – for example to collect equipment – should not be attempted unless approved by the administrators.

The company is currently “exploring its options” but it is understood that it is looking to work with other developers to complete unfinished sites.

If you are a subcontractor working in the finishes and interiors sector that has been impacted by this closure, please contact FIS Chief Executive Iain Mcilwee by emailing iainmcilwee@thefis.org
