Stortford Interiors attended the official opening of Battersea Dogs & Cats Home’s new Veterinary Hospital and Centre of Excellence, marking the completion of its interior fit-out project.
The new centre was opened by Her Royal Highness, the Duchess of Cornwall. Four-legged residents at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home were treated to a royal visit by the Duchess of Cornwall, who has two Battersea Terrier rescue dogs of her own, during the unveiling of the facility’s transformation which showcased Stortford’s ‘Interior Architectural Package Contracting’ offering.
Appointed by main contractor Sir Robert McAlpine, Stortford and its in-house joinery division, Parkrose, designed and installed a multi-disciplined package that included drywall, suspended ceilings (timber, mineral fibre and metal-pan), bespoke glass wall partitions, joinery and door sets as well as tea-point and washroom fit-out. Stortford’s also worked in close conjunction with project stakeholders to develop bespoke timber screens.
The new world-leading facility, which will play a pivotal role in Battersea’s aim to never turn away an animal in need of help, incorporated the fit-out of the new veterinary hospital with top-spec operating theatres, dental suite, intensive care areas, administration building’s reception, assembly rooms, cellular office and meeting spaces.
Scott Shearing, BD & Pre-Construction Director of Stortford Interiors, who attended the royal event said: “What a way to mark the completion! It’s truly is a real accolade for Stortford Interiors to not only deliver our fit-out solutions for Battersea Dogs & Cats Home and support such a worthwhile cause, but to also be part of such a successful and prestigious opening.’
“This project has permitted us to showcase our product and interface knowledge as well as provide the best and most cost-effective solutions. Working side-by-side with our joinery division, Parkrose, has been key to the success guaranteeing consistency, quality and high standards to meet everyone’s needs, but most importantly those of the dogs and cats that Battersea look after so well!”
