Today the FIS annual conference, Rethinking Construction, kicks off at new venue, The National Football Centre at St George’s Park, Burton upon Trent, with around 120 FIS members coming together for presentations and workshops led by industry experts.

The 2019 event focuses on how the finishes and interiors sector, our supply chain and our businesses need to evolve to deliver within the rapidly changing construction environment.

Amongst topics under discussion are the failings of Grenfell, how those in the FIS sector must adapt and position themselves against an uncertain economic and political backdrop and how to address major productivity issues. Discussions are also taking place on outdated and adverse contractual relationships and off-site thinking, while the event will also take a look at the latest digital technology how to set up businesses up for future success.

Those leading the workshops include MAC Group Operations Director Martin Adie, Red Umbrella’s Head of Therapists and Training, Nathan Shearman, Clarks Legal Partner David Rintoul, Fabrick Managing Director David Ing, CABE CEO Gavin Dunn and Grigoriou Interiors Director Elina Grigoriou, who has written a book about incorporating wellbeing into fit-out.
