Following a fire last year, the long-anticipated reopening of the SIG Roofing Dundee branch took place on 11 September. February 27 saw the fire claim the warehouse, branch, and sales office, forcing the business to shut. While the building underwent repairs, the staff continued to trade on site for customers. Not only keeping the business going but keeping spirits high too.
In the aftermath of the fire and throughout the rebuilding process, the staff in Dundee have worked hard to ensure that its business as usual. Something that George Stewart, Regional Director for SIG appreciated.
“The staff have been phenomenal; throughout the entire process they’ve really worked hard. Thanks to their efforts the branch was able to operate on site from the Wednesday after the fire, albeit with reduced capacity working alongside the construction team who were building the new branch. This helped ensure customers’ needs were met.”
None of this would have been possible without branch manager, Paul Morrison who has worked tirelessly with the architects and contractors to ensure the branch will re-open and be the best it can be.
Reflecting on the past few months, Paul had this to say.
“It has been tough, but we’ve powered through. We’re looking forward to opening and being able to better serve the local area.”
Given the damage that the fire caused to the branch, it will be launched with a completely new look. This includes the full SIG Roofing stock profile to turn location into a one-stop-shop for roofing contractors large and small. With a full flat roof offering covering single ply, EPDM, and liquids to an extensive insulation range, the branch is perfectly suited to support local projects fast and effectively. Complimenting this is the new improved and extended range of roofline now available in branch.
The relaunch is one of many new branches SIG Roofing is planning to open to increase their profile across the UK. Recognising the power of local expertise, the move combines this with the strength of the SIG network. The Dundee branch represents one such key location in the company’s growth plans.
